John Allen "Jack" Fincher, age 94, of Rowlett, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026.

Jack was born on August 17, 1931, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Joseph Fincher and Mildred Maroney Fincher Martin. He spent most of his childhood in DeRidder, Louisiana, before moving to Denton, Texas, prior to his senior year of high school. He graduated from Denton High School in 1948 and attended North Texas State University.

In 1951, Jack enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Korean War. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1954, he returned to North Texas State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management in 1957.

Jack enjoyed a long and successful career as a comptroller, working for Lone Star Gas, Rauscher-Pierce, WorldCom, and ultimately Jimmy Dean Meat Company before retiring.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Fincher and Mildred Maroney Fincher Martin, and by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jessica Klinglesmith Fincher.

He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Nicholson and husband David Nicholson, Sandy Redmon and husband Jimmy Redmon, and Lindy Livingston. He was a proud grandfather to Clint Nicholson, Darcie Huff and husband Slay Huff, Luke Nicholson, Jacob Redmon, Rachael Redmon, Christian Livingston, Austin Livingston, and Carson Livingston. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Joan and Henry Nicholson, and Sloane, Ryland, and Landry Huff.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Jack enjoyed fishing and following athletics of all kinds, but his greatest sports passion was University of North Texas football. As a devoted Mean Green fan and longtime season ticket holder, he rarely missed an opportunity to support his team.

Jack had an insatiable curiosity about the world. He loved working crossword puzzles and Sudoku, and he spent countless hours reading encyclopedias, almanacs, and atlases simply for the joy of learning. He also cherished traveling and taking road trips with family and friends.

A man of deep faith, Jack was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Garland for many years. He sang in the choir for decades, taught Sunday school, and participated in numerous service and mission trips. His commitment to serving others extended into the community through his longtime involvement with Lions Clubs International, where he served in leadership roles, and through his membership in the Shriners.

Those who knew Jack will remember him as friendly, loyal, honest, intelligent, and quietly independent. He loved his family deeply and lived a life grounded in faith, integrity, and service to others. His steady presence and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the many friends and caregivers whose companionship, support, and kindness made Jack's later years richer and more comfortable.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Garland, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial at Kaufman Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Jack's life was a testament to faith, service, lifelong learning, and devotion to family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the love he shared so generously. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
