Janet "Jan" Vitko, 81, of Rowlett, Texas went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by family, on May 12, 2023. She was born in Albia, Iowa on February 24, 1942, to proud parents John and Mary Vitko.

Jan was a hard worker no matter what she was doing and took pride in every task she had. She spent most of her career as a waitress, the most notable years at a local home cooking family favorite Carter's Restaurant in Garland, TX. She loved her customers and treated them like family, it didn't matter if you were a regular or a new face. She was one of the reasons so many people still remember Carter's fondly. After she finished waiting tables she opened and operated her own successful house cleaning business, another way that she could serve her community and took great pride in doing so.

She absolutely loved and adored her 2 grandkids, Kyle and Alyssa (Belinda/Kevin) who she helped raise and care for, as well as her 2 step grandkids, Audrey and Lindsey (Jeff's Ex) who knew her as "GramJan".

She was preceded in death by; parents, John and Mary Agnes Vitko, 4 Brothers, Andy, Jim, Bob, & Ray Vitko; ex spouse, Alonzo Carr.

She is survived by; daughter and son in law - Belinda & Kevin Hobaugh, son; Jeff Carr, Grandson and his Fiancé; Kyle Hobaugh and Melissa Nguyen, Granddaughter and husband; Alyssa & Tyler Bartlett, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.
