James Adolph
Perkins
Sep 21, 1934 — Mar 2, 2026
Garland
James Adolph Perkins, age 91, of Garland, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026.
He was born on September 21,1934, in Eustace, Texas. James moved to Dallas, Texas after graduating from Eustace High School at age 16. He began dating Wanda Roberson in 1951 and married her on July 18, 1953. The couple lived in Dallas, Texas; Memphis, Tennessee; and Garland, Texas.
James started working for Fuller Brush in the warehouse. He had to lie about his age to get his first job. He continued to take on more responsibility within the company until they wanted him to move to Kansas. He stayed in Texas and continued to work for various companies in warehouse management and various jobs.
James is survived by his two sons: Dennis and wife Sherri Perkins and Brad and wife Judi Perkins. In addition, he is survived by 5 grandsons who he adored: Jim Bob and his wife Cassie Perkins; Garrett and his wife Jilleighann and their kids, Leighton and JT; Cory and his wife Karen and their son Nathanial; Casey Perkins and his wife Alexis; and Scott Perkins and his fiancée Dana Cronin. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Wanda Perkins, parents Warren and Burlie Mae Perkins, and sister Burl Perkins.
James was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, Pawpaw, and friend. As a young man, he enjoyed hunting and sports. As his kids grew, he took joy in being around family. When his sons left home, Wanda drug him all over the globe, and he was grateful that she did. But to his last breath, his greatest joy was being a child of Christ.
