James Kenneth Lillie, (Jim) age 86, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, in Richardson, TX knowing he was loved by his family.

Born on February 7, 1940, in Saginaw, Michigan Jim lived a life defined by love, hard work, kindness, and devotion to those around him. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose steady presence and generous heart touched countless lives.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Rosina Lillie, father Robert Lillie, mother Gladys Lillie, sister Naomi Lillie, brothers Bob Lillie (Barb) and Mike Lillie (Arlene), and son-in-law Jim Beason. He is survived by his sisters Linda Latsch (Mel) and Kim Goodrich (Joe), his children, Tammy Lee (Tim), Janice Helfers (Rick), Cindy Beason, Lisa Veit (Frankie); his grandchildren, Daniel Demming, Phil Demming, Matt Helfers (Jessica), Katie Helfers, Brooke Helfers, Samantha Kyser (Konner), Michael Beason (Megan); great grandchildren Avery, Madelyn, and Brayden Helfers, Colin, Ainsley, Logan, and Lincoln Beason. His family was his greatest pride, and he found his greatest joy in spending time with them. 

Jim was in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years attaining the rank of Master Sergeant, where he earned the respect of colleagues through his dedication and integrity. He proudly served his country in Viet Nam, Okinawa, and Iran. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing cards with his poker buddies for over 30 years, the lottery, scratch off tickets, and, of course, sharing his Blue Bell ice cream and orange slices with his family.

Jim had a giving heart and was always willing to help others, no matter the sacrifice. He never met a stranger and had the unique ability to relate to people from all walks of life.

His greatest legacy was the love he shared with his wife Rosina, and the family they created together. Their lives were a testament to enduring love, kindness, unlimited patience, and commitment. Their love and unwavering devotion to one another were an inspiration to all who knew them, and their family finds comfort in knowing they are together once again.

Though he will be deeply missed, his heart lives on in the family he cherished and the lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10:30am at Williams Funeral Home in Garland, TX. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his life and share memories.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered love, prayers, and support during this difficult time, especially the wonderful staff at The Preserve at Spring Creek where they cared for him with love and kindness and treated him like family.
