James Everett Huggins, age 76 of Garland, Texas; was born June 30, 1946 in Gilmer, Texas to Jay and Hughlene Cope Huggins; and passed away November 26, 2022 in Garland, Texas. James was an AP Biology Teacher who adored getting to form and mold bright young minds. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dora Hernandez Huggins of Garland; daughters, Michelle Stokes and husband, Matt of Wylie, Jennifer Huggins and fiance, Clayton of Wylie; son, Derek Huggins and wife, Tara of Wylie; grandkids, Madilyn, Mason, Matthew, Rocky Dean, Daphne, Jesse, and Sydney, all of Wylie; brother, Bill Huggins and wife, Phyllis of Tomball, Texas; sister, Betty Cross of Tyler, Texas; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving students.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Hughlene; and his brother-in-law, John Cross.

There will be a funeral service held in James' honor at 10:30AM Friday, December 09, 2022 in Williams Memorial Chapel, with interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett, Texas. The family will hold a rosary from 5:00-6:00PM Thursday evening, December 8, at the funeral home, with visiting hours to follow from 6:00PM-9:00PM.
