Ina Ardell Viehman was born November 17, 1932, in Woodston, Kansas to Inez Pearl (Day) and Sion Bradley Halbert. 92 years blessed and loved, she passed away on June 9, 2025.

Ardell graduated in 1951 from Steelville High School in Missouri. She married her high school sweetheart on September 7, 1952, at the Presbyterian Church in Steelville. They celebrated 70 years of love together.

Ardell worked at the Admissions Office of the University of Missouri in Columbia while Ralph earned his degree. Ardell and Ralph had two daughters, Vicki and Linda. Ralph's employment with Sears led the family to move from Columbia to Garden City and Great Bend, Kansas; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Coffeyville, Kansas; Grand Island, Nebraska; and finally landed in Garland, Texas in 1971. Ardell resided in the same house for 54 years.

Ardell had a variety of jobs in her lifetime. She sold tickets at the $2.00 window at the horse races, wore her hard hat while working in the office at a construction site, and was a teacher's aide in a kindergarten classroom. When Linda was in high school, Ardell decided to pursue her RN degree. She worked at Baylor Hospital in surgical oncology.

Ardell was a creative seamstress from Barbie clothes to Prom dresses. She was at home in the kitchen making sure everyone was fed, delighting them with biscuits, briskets, and cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed shopping for bargains with the girls and never paid full price. Ardell was quite the card shark from Bridge to Spoons.

Whether traveling around the world or being a tourist in her own city, Ardell found a way to broaden our horizons with what she called a Day of Culture. Yet, she saw the beauty of a sunrise or sunset while sitting on the dock or on the beach.

Gram always showed up with a fun-loving spirit to support her grandkids whether it be a school program, sporting event, or recital. She always put family first, yet she found time to serve her church and her community. Ardell's kind heart and sweet smile brought joy to the lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, Ardell was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Viehman; sister Ervene Hicks; brother Marvin Halbert; and great-grandson Neal Edward Schiefelbein.

Ardell felt family strong and is survived by her daughters Vicki and husband Dale Fornander; Linda and husband Bruce Noblett; sister Betty and husband Dale Stevenson.

Ardell treasured her grandchildren, Melissa and husband Andy Schiefelbein; Lauren and husband Sydney Brown; Allison and husband Dusty Hoffman; Bryan and wife Bryttin; and Leanna Noblett.

She was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Harper Lynn, Reese Desiree, and Kinley Danica Hoffman; Thea Paige Noblett; and Cannon Elliott Brown. She was Aunt Ardell to numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Garland, 930 W. Avenue B, Garland, Texas on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Ardell will be laid to rest at the Steelville Missouri Cemetery at a later date.
