Hypolite Bunny Sosa passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025.  Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Bunny, as he was affectionately called, loved life which was guided by his undeniable faith in God.

During his early years in Trinidad and Tobago, Bunny excelled in Track and Field and represented his beloved country in that sport across the Caribbean.  A product of St. Mary's College in Trinidad, he obtained his degree from Teachers College.  Bunny migrated to the United States in 1968, and thereafter held many positions.  Most notably, he worked at the United Nations and Joseph E. Seagrams.

His greatest love, outside his love for his family, was his love of sports.  He was an avid soccer fan and coached adult and youth teams.  He refereed both indoor and outdoor soccer matches for which he received many awards for outstanding officiating from the North Texas Premiere Association and MISL.  Bunny loved all genres of music including Steel Pan, Soca, Reggae and Smooth Jazz.  He loved the vibrations in Trinidad around Carnival time, dancing in the street, having a drink or two and spending time with family and friends.

Hypolite Bunny Sosa was a father of five.  He is survived by his spouse Barbara, sons and daughters, his brother Junior, sisters Greta and Kathleen, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He will be missed for his sense of humor and his love of life.  Bunny's memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
