Hallie Buckner Ramsey was born 1/14/1932 in Dallas to Walter Cooke and Mattie O. Buckner (Richardson) in a house on the Buckner orphanage lands, where her grandfather SJ Buckner was a caretaker of the agricultural property of the orphanage started by his uncle RC Buckner..  She grew up in the Pleasant Mound neighborhood and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She married the love of her life Elmer R. Ramsey Sr. in April of 1950.  They had their first son while Elmer was in the navy and afterward, moved to Garland Texas. They had a second son and lived in Garland where Hallie was a devoted housewife and mother, even while working at Garland Schools and doing some accounting work after that.  Hallie and Elmer loved travelling and fishing, spending many weekends in the pines of East Texas.

Hallie is preceded in death by her father and mother, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Also preceding her in death is her loving husband Elmer Roy Ramsey Sr.

She is survived by her 2 sons, E. Roy Ramsey Jr. and wife Millie, and Jack F. Ramsey and wife Beth. She has 5 grandchildren:   Christopher Knight and wife Leeann, Michele Ramsey and Husband Michael, Jason Ramsey and wife Brandie, Wendy Knight and husband Chris, and Josh Ramsey and wife Kelsey.  There are 9 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandsons.
