Gloria Vargas, 77, of Mesquite, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 3, 2024.  She was born on December 29, 1946, in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila  Mexico to parents Elena and Jose Garcia. She is survived by husband, German Vargas; children; Marco Vargas, Araceli (Juan) Rios, Saira (Carlos) Muñoz; grandchildren, German (Merlyn) Vargas, Magdalena (Guillermo) Hernandez, Janelle Rios, Marco Vargas Jr., Alitzah Rios, Jacquline Muñoz, and Camille Muñoz; great-grandchildren, Cecilia Vargas, Carissa Vargas and German Vargas Jr.; and brother, Florentino (Alma) Garcia.
Gloria met her love, German, when she was only 17 years old and he 16 years old. Often hearing their love stories, remembering when her husband would take her around town on dates. German, often referred to as "Papi Grande", would always admire a special feature of hers, her gorgeous hair. A couple of years later, when he was 18 and she 19, they married in their hometown.
Gloria, often referred to as "Mami Grande", was such a wonderful and caring woman. She was a devoted catholic, and would attend church on a regular basis. She enjoyed crocheting, often gifting items to her family members, especially her grandkids. She was a Green Bay Packers fan, opposite to her husband, a Dallas Cowboy fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family; whether it was at parties, watching football, or just spending quality time together.

Gloria conoció a su amor, German, cuando ella solo tenía 17 años y él 16. Siempre escuchando sus historias de amor, recordando cuando se iban por la ciudad en citas.
