Gladys Faye Balka

On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Gladys Faye Balka stepped out of time and into eternity.  Born in Lavon, TX on June 26, 1930 she was the daughter of Veazy and Icy Watkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Christine Hosack.

Mrs. Balka was a beloved wife and aunt.  She was a member of First Baptist church of Garland, TX.  She served the Lord faithfully by volunteering her time with the Friendship House in Garland for many years and was an active member of the church choir at First Baptist Church in Dallas for over 20 years.

She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Balka, niece, Renee' Balka; nephew, Michael Balka; and niece, Denise Hosack.  A committal service will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, TX.

A memorial service will be held following the committal service at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Garland,

TX.  Flowers can be sent to First Baptist Church of Garland for the memorial service or Restland Cemetery for the committal service.
