Gilbert Perez, age 87, of Garland, Texas, went to be with Jesus on March 13, 2024.

Gilbert was born in Mexico City on August 20, 1936, to Salvador and Elena Perez. His family moved to Dallas at the age of ten.

He attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from Crozier Tech High School in 1956. After graduation, Gilbert and Yvonne eloped to Oklahoma as he was not of the legal age of twenty-one in the state of Texas.

Gilbert worked for Safeway Groceries for 25 years. He started as a package boy working his way to one of their top store managers. He ended his working career with APAC as an OSHA safety advisor.

He is preceded in death by his parents Salvador and Elena, a brother William, and a grandson Joshua.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Yvonne. His children, Janice Longino, Vicki Stearman and her husband Ron, and Garth Perez and his wife Terrie. His brothers, Victor, and Jesse; sister Irma Miller and her husband Bill and sister, Heidi Kirkham. Along with eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
