Gary Austin Cook, 85, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Rockwall.

He was born to Jay Austin Cook and Rayetta (Bowman) Cook. Gary dedicated many years of his life working as a postman and eventually retiring from the Garland Post Office.

Gary was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his son, Bret Cook.

He is survived by his brother, Don Cook, and his wife, Margaret; his nephew, Jason Cook, and his wife, Karen; and his cherished grandniece, Clara Cook.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Williams Funeral Directors in Garland, Texas. A visitation will take place at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow immediately at Garland Memorial Park.
