Gail Trammell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie and friend, passed away on September 18, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Gail was born on February 23, 1949, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to Margaret and Walter Jones. She was the youngest of four siblings. At the age of four, she moved with her family to Garland, Texas. While in high school, Gail met the love of her life, Gary. Their love story began as young sweethearts and continued throughout their lives. They were married on January 29, 1966, and shared over 60 years of marriage. Gail and Gary were blessed with two children, Sheila and Gary Jr.

Gail worked for Texas Instruments for 33 years, from 1967 until her retirement in 2000.

She loved spending time with her family above all else. She had a passion for competition and loved playing games, especially Forty-Two, Spades, Chicken Foot, and many more. She had a passion for reading and working puzzles. Whether gathered around the table with family and friends or enjoying a little friendly competition, Gail brought her competitive spirit and love of fun to every game.

She was also a devoted Texas sports fan, cheering on her beloved Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. Her love of sports, games, fishing, golfing, gambling, and RVing reflected her zest for life and her enjoyment of making memories with the people she loved.

On August 31, 2026, Gail was baptized at her son’s house, beginning a new chapter in her faith and spiritual life. She was a member of Terrell Christian Country Church “T3C”.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Walter Jones; brother, James Arlen Jones; and sister, Donna Odle.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Gary Trammell; daughter, Sheila Fortenberry and husband, Chris; son, Gary Trammell Jr. and wife, Lynzie; three grandchildren, Tyler Fortenberry and wife Jenna, Taryn Snow and husband Hunter, and Scotlyn Trammell. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Asher Fortenberry, Daisy Fortenberry, and Steely Snow; her sister, Becky Glover; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members and friends.

Gail’s greatest legacy is the love she gave her family and the memories she created with them. She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
