Frederick Wayne
Welch
Jun 25, 1950 — Jan 9, 2025
Garland
Frederick "Wayne" Welch, 74, peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on January 9, 2025, in Richardson, Texas.
Wayne was born on June 25, 1950, in Conroe, Texas, the youngest of two sons born to Willie Lee Welch and Beatrice Betts. A proud patriot, Wayne joined the U.S. Air Force, serving his country during the Vietnam War. On November 30, 1973, he married the love of his life, Phyllis Samford Welch. Together, they shared 51 beautiful years of marriage. Following his service, Wayne worked for many years as a Heavy Equipment Salesman; the last 22 being at Bane Machinery, earning respect for his work ethic and dedication.
Wayne had a servant's heart, dedicating his life to leading others to Christ. Known as a "fixer," he was always ready to lend a helping hand, especially for his beloved grandchildren, who often brought him their broken treasures. Wayne cherished spending time with his family; whether it be going on vacations, (especially to the beach), participating in the grandchildren's activities, fishing, hunting, and golfing. Buying and selling cars was his thing; Wayne had a love for cars, especially muscle cars. If you knew him, you know he loved music and enjoyed having a good time.
Wayne is reunited in Heaven with his parents, stepfather Noble Anderson, and his infant sister, Sherry Lee Welch. He leaves behind a loving legacy, including his devoted wife, Phyllis; his brother, Clyde Welch, and wife, MeloDee of Dallas; his sister, Cindy, and husband Mark of Wylie; Stepsister, Teresa, and husband Billy Hatfield; Stepbrother, Jackie and wife Lori Davis, his son, Justin Welch of Richardson; his daughters, Emily Purvis and husband Thomas of Royse City, and Tammy Clark and husband Cary of Albany. Wayne was the proud grandfather of Conner, Paisley, Cache Clark, Kamrey and husband Joseph Doles, Alyson Purvis, Presley, and Bryce Purvis. He is also survived by numerous cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Wayne's life was a testament to faith, family, and service. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
