Frankie Doris
Cooper Daniel
Nov 22, 1929 — May 18, 2024
In Loving Memory of
Frankie Doris Cooper Daniel
11/29/1929 - 05/18/2024
Frankie Doris Fawcett Cooper Daniel died peacefully at her home in Garland, Texas on May 18, 2024 at the age of 94. She was born on November 22, 1929 to Ray and Ruby Fawcett in Pottsboro, Texas. She graduated from Denison High School in 1947, and moved to Garland, Texas in the early 1950s. She met Gerald Cooper, and they were married January 25, 1952 at First Christian Church of Garland. They raised their three children, Gerry, Susan, and Kim, in Garland. After Gerald's death in 1976, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in education and Masters of Library Science from Texas Women's University. She was employed by Garland ISD as an elementary school librarian for 15 years and retired in 1994. On September 7, 1997 Doris married Thomas Daniel, and they enjoyed life together until his death in 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald Boone Cooper and Thomas M. Daniel; by her son, Gerry Cooper; and by her sisters, Rama Badgett and Polly Martin.
Throughout her entire life, Doris had a strong commitment to her faith and devoted much of her time to the church. She became a member of First Christian Church of Garland in 1952 and was active up until her death. She served as a Deacon and an Elder, was active in Christian Women's Fellowship, and worked in the church library. She was a member of the Doves Covenant Group for many years. She was disciplined about her daily devotionals and about praying for each of her family members by name every day. Doris embodied Christ's love, and she demonstrated it constantly with her loving smile, kind words, encouragement, hospitality, and infectious laugh.
She wrote:
I have tried* to be a good mother, a loving grandmother, and a good friend to my many friends. I have enjoyed life and have experienced so much love from my family and friends. I learned to love the journey of life. I learned to look at the good in the world and appreciate all of life's blessings. I discerned that with God's help, many things are possible. (*She succeeded!)
Doris was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and amazing friend. Her life was her family, and her memory will live on through them. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Susan Cooper Boulden, Mike Boulden, Kim Cooper Schnitker, James Schnitker, and Brenda Fetzer Cooper; along with her stepsons and their spouses, John and Mary Daniel and Tim Daniel. She was Ma or Great Ma to her 9 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren (Kate Cooper Walker (JT Walker), Cara Cooper Prestenberg (Matt Prestenberg), Kristin Cooper Erspamer (Justin Erspamer), Beth Boulden Warren (Zack Warren), Emily Boulden Warth (Drew Warth), Sarah Boulden (Scott Kitchens), Laura Schnitker, Andrew Schnitker (Madison Schnitker), Michael Schnitker (Ellie Schnitker), Alexander Daniel, and Zoe Daniel, and 19 great-grandchildren (Addy and Emery Walker; Sophia, Scarlett, and Stella Prestenberg; Cooper, Charlotte, Cece, and Camden Erspamer; Hattie and Stanley Warren; Zoe and Ethan Warth; Ruby and Rowe Kitchens; Everett, Davis, and Winston Brown; and Lila Schnitker.
