Frankie Joy Casady. March 8th, 1943 - January 27th, 2026.

Frankie Joy Casady, wife of Douglas Casady, and mother to five children, has passed away.

She met her husband through the World Wide Church of God. After a short while, Douglas proposed to Joy; she happily said yes. Joy had an unwavering faith in God.

They married on September 24, 1966 and supported each other in their union until her passing, just short of 60 years. Joy spent her life in devotion to God, her husband, and her children.

Joy gave birth to and raised five children: Anita, Iva Jill, Jane, Raymond, and Sharon. While Douglas did help, Joy was the main parent to raise their kids. She would later greatly enjoy raising her grandkids, she was very patient and caring and loved having them around when she baby sat them.

Joy grew up in Oklahoma with a strong connection to her mother and sister Kathleen Davis. Her mother, Clara Olive Davis, sadly passed away when Joy's first child was quite young.

In addition to Douglas, she loved working on and improving her garden. Like any good gardener, she was constantly making changes to it. Her garden grew from a small spot in front of the house to the whole front yard. With that done, she got her children to help her with moving sections of grass that were in the front to the back yard. Then her husband erected a shed and bird baths were placed so that birds could enjoy the flowers. Soon the back yard looked as wonderful as the front yard. Joy loved moving things around and adding little "joy" touches as much as she did growing plants.

She hated cooking and had no interest in getting good at it. Some of her children inherited her feelings about cooking, others did not.

Sometimes Joy expressed disappointment with Douglas for being overly critical of other people. While they had their struggles they still loved and cared for each other.

In their later years, Joy enjoyed traveling with Douglas for the Feast of Tabernacles. They visited several states and enjoyed nature walks and learning about the historical sites of places they visited. They also enjoyed visiting their adult children in other states.

Joy suffered from some medical and mental health issues that would later limit her travels as well as enjoying time outside. She had a dark sense of humor that she would occasionally use to make light of her health issues and of dying.

She is survived by her husband Douglas Casady and her children, Anita Reeves, Iva Jill Haines, Jane Ayers, Raymond Casady, Sharon Willingham, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Douglas, "As the days go by, I miss her more and more."
