Evelyn Esta Skinner 90, of Garland, Texas, passed away on October 13, 2023.

Evelyn was born on October 12, 1933 to James and Augusta Anderson in Hope, Arkansas. Evelyn moved to Dallas and worked at Republic National Life Insurance Company her entire working life. In 1963, she met Roy Skinner through a mutual friend and they were married that same year. Roy and Evelyn raised three children together, Delores Aaron, Bobby C. Burns, and Bart Skinner. Evelyn was a huge football fan and enjoyed watching her favorite team the Dallas Cowboys. She and Roy were Dallas Cowboys' season ticket holders for over 20 years. She was a dedicated and faithful member of
Garland Seventh Day Adventist Church for 30 plus years. She taught Sunday School most of those years.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, James Anderson and Augusta Parish; sister, Shirley Gaston; daughter, Delores (Aaron) Shappa, and grandson, Dustin Manning and her beloved pet terrier, Scottie. She is survived by son, Dr. Bobby C. Burns and his wife, Tina; son, Bart Skinner: grandchildren, Taylor Burns, Byron Burns, Stefan Skinner, Blake Skinner and Brendan Skinner; Pamela Higbee, Greg Manning, and great grandchildren, Adair Burns, Henry Burns, Grant Burns, Brittany Martinez, Katelyn Higbee, Megan Higbee and great-great grandchild, Elaina Martinez and niece, Diana Martin.

Services will be held at Williams Funeral Home (Garland) on October 19, 2023 at 1:00 pm
