Evelyn Dehart
Fain
Mar 27, 1931 — May 8, 2025
Garland
Evelyn Irene deHart Fain was born March 27, 1931 in Floydada, Texas to Beula "Dot" Cummings and Mark deHart. She went home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2025 in Dallas, Texas surrounded by family.
A devoted friend, spiritual pioneer, and sharp legal mind, Evelyn was the first to tackle any task with tenaciousness and a twinkle in her eye. Many have described her as "a force of nature." Evelyn, AKA "DeeDee," leaves an incredibly proud family who will always remember her devotion to them. Evelyn amazed everyone in her life by continuing to work as a paralegal until she was ninety. Being helpful, creative, and serving others brought her so much joy.
A generous soul, Evelyn saw the best in people and had a way of connecting with others on a spiritual level. She fiercely loved everyone around her with her heart on her sleeve. She will be dearly missed, but she will never be forgotten.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters Laura Fain Bittermann and Dr. Linda Fain Hatton and husband, Daniel; grandchildren Dr. Romy Fain and Rich; Alex Bittermann, Austin Hatton and wife Rachel, Dr. Hannah Fain, John Hopps "Jack" Fain III; and many more who adored her. Preceding her in death were John Hopps Fain Sr., her beloved son Dr. John Hopps Fain Jr., and her sister Nell Birdwell.
