Obituary

Ethan Edward Thompson

Ethan was born in Dallas Tx June 20 th , 1996, to Angela and Dane Thompson. He was a lifelong resident of Sachse ,Tx where he attended Sachse schools. He is survived by his parents, sister Avery Thompson of Sachse Tx, nephew Greyson Hogan of Sachse Tx, Gran Sandra McGaha of Plano Tx, and a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles. Ethan, was preceded in death by his Grandad Billy McGaha of Plano, Tx., Mamaw Freda Thompson Walker and husband Papa Jack of Garland Tx, Papaw Ed Thompson of Garland Tx, and his Uncle Curt Thompson of Mineola, Tx.

Ethan was a staunch supporter of those less fortunate and firmly believed that everyone is equal in the eyes of God. His immense size and kind nature earned him the nickname of "Our Gentle Giant." Ethan was truly blessed with wit and humor, and looked forward to branching out into comedy as a career. Late nights would often find him in deep conversations with his mother whom he exalted above all others or acting as a sounding board for his sister of whom he was fiercely protective. He took immense pride in his best little friend Greyson and would spend time each day playing with and teaching him. Ethan respected his father's inner strength and devotion to family. They would spend time talking sports ,politics, weather, religion or any other topic without always agreeing but always being respectful of differing opinions.

Growing up, Ethan played baseball and football where he learned to be a teammates' teammate  striving to never let anyone down. It was here that he found his sense of fairness that would help define the rest of his life, where bullying was a no-no and not tolerated by him. He donated to battered women shelters, wanting to lessen the pain, and helped plan the family donations for the year. Ethan kept up to date with current events and was well read in both the here and now as well as past times. He had his own opinions but would gladly take any side of a discussion just to make sure he understood everyone's thought process.

Ethan Edward Thompson was well loved by so many, and truly leaves a giant hole in our lives.

Rest now, Our Gentle Giant.

" Come unto me and I will give you rest"

Matthew 11-28

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emily's Place https://emilysplacetx.org/donate/ a non-profit shelter and rehabilitation center for women and children escaping abusive living situations. Ethan wanted to help others, always, and would have preferred the money go to a favorite charity.
