Elizabeth Anne Demetri Clayman (also know as Liz, but affectionately known to family as “DoDo”) unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2026 at the age of 82. She was born on August 31, 1943 in Bristol, VA. Her family moved to Jacksonville, FL, then Jackson, MS, before arriving in Dallas, TX in 1961. She began her career in Dallas at Blue Cross and Blue Shield where she met her husband, Ed Demetri, who preceded her in death in August, 2004 after 40 years of marriage.
She finished her career in Richmond, TX with Aetna Insurance before retiring to Terlingua, TX, where Ed built their retirement home. Upon his passing, she returned to Dallas and lived her final years with family. She is survived by brother Jim Clayman, his wife Kay, and their two sons, Christopher Clayman and his wife Nichole, Jeremy Clayman and his wife Sommer, sister Julia Battino and her husband Joseph, and their children, Julianne Battino, and James Battino and his wife Makenna. There will be a Memorial Service at First United Methodist Church of Richardson on Thursday, August 13 at 2:00 p.m.. There will be a graveside service on Friday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Garland Memorial Park in Garland, TX.
