Elizabeth Buchanan, born on February 17, 1969, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and quiet humor.

Elizabeth grew up in Rowlett, Texas, alongside her parents, Billy and Wanda Buchanan, and her siblings Evelyn, Kathy, and David. From an early age, she loved the outdoors—riding her three-wheeler, swimming, and embracing the simple joys of an active childhood. Elizabeth shared a close bond with siblings that carried into adulthood.

In 1989, Elizabeth became a mother to her daughter, Lauryn, a role she cherished deeply. She worked at Baylor Garland, where her caring nature and strong work ethic were evident to all who knew her. Her love of motorsports and the outdoors found a perfect match when she moved to Greenville, Texas, in 2000, where she worked on the ranch and focused on raising her daughter, instilling values of independence, resilience, and compassion.

In 2016, Elizabeth experienced one of the greatest joys of her life—the birth of her granddaughter, London, who became the light of her world. She and London spent many days and evenings swimming in her pool.

Known for her wit and caring heart, Elizabeth was someone others could always rely on when they needed it most. She devoted herself to caring for her late mother and continued to help care for her father until she herself became hospitalized. Her daughter describes her as a strong woman with a deep, unwavering love for her family.

In her final moments, Elizabeth shared a tender message with her granddaughter, London, telling her that when she goes outside and looks at the stars, to find the brightest one—because that would be her. We take comfort in knowing that Elizabeth will always be there, shining brightly over London and watching over all who love her.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her grandparents, beloved mother; Wanda Johnson Buchanan, she is survived by her daughter; Lauryn Holcomb, father; Billy Max Buchanan, her siblings and their children.

Her light will never fade.
