Dylan Alexander Bustillos, 33, passed away on July 4th, 2025. Born on January 11th, 1992, in Dallas, Texas. Dylan's life was a vibrant journey of growth, love, and unwavering determination.

Dylan had a huge heart. His laughter and his smile would light up any room he was in. He made a lasting impression on every person he met. He was an extremely hard worker, and to say he was strong-willed is an understatement. Dylan was the absolute best friend anyone could have. He loved his family and his dog, Jax, whom he adored.

Dylan had a love for life's everyday adventures. He shared an unbreakable bond with his dog, Jax, his constant companion and best friend. Some of his favorite moments were spent at the lake, hanging out with friends on their boat, or casting a line. He loved going to the fair, taking in the lights, food, and people.

A true Cowboys fan, he wore his team's colors proudly and never missed a game, whether it was a win or a loss. He would even plan his schedule around The Boys. He was always up for something new, whether it was trying a different food, exploring a new place, or just taking a different route home. His routes home sometimes led to unpaved roads or life-size bumper cars, ensuring there was never a dull moment on his journey. If you ever had the "pleasure" of letting him drive, you know what we mean.

Dylan was fiercely loyal and exuded warmth, with an easygoing spirit that made people feel at home around him. These are the things that brought him joy, and the memories that those who loved him will cherish forever.

Dylan's academic and professional journey was marked by remarkable achievements. He completed his associate's degree and furthered his education in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). His dedication and hard work led him to obtain his Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Contractors License. He then established his own HVAC business, DFW Comfort Solutions, LLC, in December 2024. His commitment to excellence was evident in the 5-star rating he quickly earned and maintained on Google; a testament to his dedication and high-quality service. His professional journey serves as an inspiration to all who knew him.

In recent years, Dylan experienced a profound personal transformation. Through strength, determination, and grace, he embraced growth and made meaningful changes that reflected the depth of his character. Though his journey included difficult battles and a few relapses along the way, he never gave up on himself or the life he was determined to build. His path was marked by courage, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to change. In time, he overcame those setbacks, emerging stronger, more grounded, and deeply focused on shaping his future.

His transformation was a powerful reminder that recovery is not a linear process; every step forward, no matter how hard-won, can lead to lasting change. Those closest to Dylan witnessed with pride and admiration the life he worked so hard to rebuild, and they will remember him for the legacy of hope, redemption, and resilience he leaves behind.

He is survived by his grandmother, Hester Cohn; his mother, Eileen Pruitt; and his father, Richard Bustillos. He is also survived by his siblings: Josh Cohn (Tristin), James McGrath, Alicia Floyd (Rocky), Nikki Bustillos, Troy VanOrden (Meg), Patrick Bustillos, Renae Rascon, Jesicah Fininen; and niece, Sophia Cohn.

He leaves behind his extended family, including his uncle, Andrew Cohn; his aunts, Teresa Gerhardt, Michelle Foster (Michael), and Jessica Malacara (James); and his cousins, Jaedyn Gerhardt and Connor Lewis— also, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-aunts, and great-uncles.

His three best friends, Ricque Honeycutt, Megan Krakowiak, and Cori Cockrell, were constants in his everyday life, offering love, loyalty, support, and laughter. They were family in every sense.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Arnie Cohn and Mike Gerhardt; his grandmother, Bea Gerhardt; his uncle, Tandy Bustillos, Jr.; and his brother-in-law, Joe McGrath.

Dylan Alexander Bustillos lived with courage, humor, and heart. He faced life's challenges head-on, loved fiercely, and left behind a legacy of strength and love that will stay with everyone who knew him.
