Durland Menefee

1933-2024

Durland Menefee was born in Houston to Durland and Nelly Menefee and grew up on a dairy farm in Austin. He was a Professional Butcher working as a Supervisor at Safeway Warehouse in Garland for over 20 years; moving to and retiring from Kroger Warehouse in Irving in 1998. After he retired, he enjoyed making birdhouses and keepsake boxes for his children and toy boxes for his grandchildren, which he enjoyed very much. He loved traveling and spending time with his beloved wife of 44 years, Faye. He will be dearly missed by his loving family.

Durland is survived by his wife, Faye; his children, Monty Menefee of Garland, James Menefee and wife Beth of Oklahoma, Vicki Alfaro of Rowlett, Doyle Lovelady and his wife Lisa of N. Richland Hills, and Sandra Maxey and her husband Larry of Rowlett, grandchildren; John, Angela, Christina, Jennifer, Jodie, Brandon, Heather, Savannah, James Jr (JJ), Monica, Ashley, Cody, Wesley, Caylee and Stephanie; and great grandchildren; London, William, Harper, Olivia, Violet, Iris, Jordyn, Zeke and Kinley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Durland and Nelly Menefee, children Kathy Estrado and Shirley Menefee, three sisters, Peggy, Doris and Nell, and a son in law, Julio Alfaro.

Memorial Services for Durland will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Williams Memorial Chapel.
