Douglas Wayne Bland born 8/23/1953 died 9/27/2023

Douglas Wayne Bland age 70 died at home on Wednesday September 27, 2023. He was born in Dallas Texas in the year 1953 to Burl and Willie Mae Bland. Doug graduated from Garland High School, attended classes at Richland College and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked many years in the grocery store business before moving to armed security guard services. In his younger years Doug enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his later years he enjoyed getting together with cousins at family reunions and high school friends at class reunions.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents Burl and Willie Mae Bland, his sisters Berldene Nelson, and Bobbie Rice, his brother Donald Bland, and his nephews Ricky and Barry Nelson

He is survived by his sister Shirley Ptacnik, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He will always be remembered by all his nieces and nephews for his raspberry kisses on bellies, backs and necks and tickles from his crazy beard. Doug was a wonderful and caring person, if you asked and he had it, he would give it.  He will be missed every day and his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
