**February 9, 1937 - November 3, 2024**

Dorothy Jean Perkins, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully at her home in Garland, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones at 4:25 AM on November 3, 2024.

Born to Hazel Perkins and Alice Marie Chism Perkins, she was the first daughter in a family of 13 siblings. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, four half-sisters, and one half-brother.

She leaves behind a rich legacy of love through her six daughters: Carolyn Alexandria, Doris Jean Hall, Diana Lee Hart, Joanna Perkins, Rubby Perkins, and Dell Morgan Peters. She is also survived by her siblings, Sally Perkins, Katie Cox, and Ora Dowell, Dale Andrews, along with her two brothers, Sammy Perkins and Ray Perkins. Her family extends to numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory forward.

Dorothy attended school in Hawkins, Texas, and was a proud graduate of Community Color School. Throughout her life, she worked at Garland Cleaners and the telephone company, where she fostered many lasting friendships.

Her spirit and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Dorothy's family and friends remember her with love and gratitude for the joy she brought into their lives.

A Memorial Service will be held in Dorothy's Honor at 10:30AM Saturday, November 16, 2024 in Williams Memorial Chapel, with Eric Jay Reed and Floyd Stevenson officiating, and inurnment to follow at the Garland Memorial Park Columbarium.
