Dorothy Maxine Kennedy was born December 16, 1930 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Perry and Alyce Brooks and was greeted at heaven's gates on December 5, 2025. She married Paul Kennedy on February 4, 1950 at Gaston Avenue Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. They had two daughters, Sarah Joalyce and Vicki Paulette. She dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother and wife, always thinking of others before herself. She loved her family. She was a stay at home mom until 1970 when she went to work for Retail Credit which later became Equifax. After her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed camping and fishing with their friends. Maxine accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at the age of 14 in Louisiana. Her life included membership at numerous churches including Calvary Baptist Church in Garland and First Baptist Church of Garland where she was a member at the time of her death. She donated her time working at the Friendship House each week as long as she was able.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of almost 74 years.

Maxine is survived by her daughter Joalyce Rodgers and her son-in-law Wayne and her daughter Vicki Arnold and her son-in-law Mike, her grandson Jake Arnold and his wife Ashley, her granddaughter Ali Petty and her husband Bryan, her grandson Harls Rodgers and his wife Mariza and her granddaughter Lauren Belcher and her husband Steve and nine great grandchildren - Kylin and Kasen Arnold, Tyce, Kya and Kynslee Petty, Colton and Dylan Rodgers, and Jackson May and Quinn Belcher and one sister Sue Miller, and two nieces and one nephew. Maxine is remembered by many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her. She was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend.
