Donna Gail
Bratton
May 10, 1954 — Aug 18, 2023
Dallas
It is with profound sadness that the Bratton family must share that our matriarch Donna Gail Fountain Bratton, age 69, passed away on August 18, 2023. She passed in her hometown of Dallas, Texas, after a hard-fought battle with liver disease. Donna was born to Arlis and Mary Frances (Huston) Fountain in 1954 in Dallas, TX. Growing up, she was an avid church member and baseball player with her best friend Jo Ellen Bratton.
She graduated from Bryan Adams High School - the class of 1971. On March 22, 1975, she married her soul mate and love of her life, Ray Bratton. Ray and Donna had four children together: Wendy Gail, Natalie Paige, Ray Edwin, and Tanne Mariah. Her passion in life was being a Mom, and after her children grew up, she loved being a grandmother to her six grandchildren who lovingly called her Marmee: Tess, Jordan, Logan, Cheyenne, Jeremy and Brandon. Donna served as the long-time church secretary for both Lakeview Christian Church and Highlands Christian Church. She was an extremely present member of the school and church community serving in the PTA and on numerous committees in the church. She received the National Life Membership award in the PTA program, which is extinguished as the highest honor. In 2010, she moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico, to support her husband and family's dream of living in the mountains. Donna and Ray retired home to Dallas in 2020. Donna had a personality that was larger than life. She took pride in her family's legacy and was fiercely protective of anyone in her corner. Donna was an avid reader who was knowledgeable about so many facets of life itself. She loved celebrating the holidays and birthdays, and never missed the opportunity to create special memories with family.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Arlis and Mary Frances Fountain and their beloved siblings, eldest Brother David Frank Fountain, youngest Brother Donald Ray Fountain, Sister-in-law Jo Ellen Bratton.
She is survived by her husband and soul mate, Ray Bratton, her four children Wendy, Natalie, Ray and wife Kat Bratton, Tanne and loving partner Jordan Sandoval, her six grandchildren Tess, Jordan, Logan, Cheyenne, Jeremy and Brandon, Sister Geneva Nash, Cousin Karen Bolton and husband David Bolton, Cousin Lorrie Cavezza and husband Pete Cavezza, and many other Nieces, Nephews and Cousins in the Huston/Houston, Fountain, Bolton, Yoes, Borden and Bratton families.
