Divina Lagasca Fiddes, age 63 of Garland, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 20. She was born in Cabugao, Echaugue, Isabela, Philippines on August 26, 1959 to Modesto Manuel and Marcelina Lagasca. Divina was married on September 19, 1979 (43 years) to US Navy Lieutenant JG Michael Fiddes in Olongapo, PI.

Divina and Mike lived in Hawaii near Pearl Harbor from 1979-1980 until moving to Texas. Divina and Mike attended First Filipino American UMC in Balch Sprigs, then later became Charter Members of Faith UMC in Richardson, and also attended Axe Memorial UMC in Garland, Texas. Divina was typically an active participant and/or leader of 3-4 different Bible Study Groups each week, often teaching from the Book of Revelations.

Divina had her own Interior Design and Draperies Business, was an avid gardener and talented portraits and landscapes painter, and loved helping and spending time with her friends and family; and particularly as Lola to her two grandsons, Hudson and Henry. Divina had been working with her two brothers, Renato and Joe, to build a new family home in the Province in PI. Divina loved to go thrift shopping, and find other bargains with her friends; which she would pack in dozens of large Balikbayan boxes, and ship to help build up the family home in PI.

Divina is survived by her loving husband of 43 years; Michael S. Fiddes of Garland, Texas; son, Christopher S. Fiddes of Garland, Texas; daughter, Kimberly Fiddes Escudero and husband, Daniel of Garland, Texas; grandsons, Hudson M. and Henry A. Escudero of Garland, Texas; brothers, Renato Manuel of Manila, Philippines, and Arcadio Manuel of Isabela, Philippines.
She is preceded in death by her brother, George Manuel of the Philippines; and sister, Emma Pond of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Divina's honor at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2023 in Williams Memorial Chapel, with a Graveside Celebration to be held at a later date at DFW National Cemetery.
The family will accept visitors on Saturday evening, January 7, 2023 from 5:00-8:00PM at the Funeral Home.
