Shire, Diane Davie went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2026 after a 5 year battle with Parkinson's disease. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Diane was born on September 14, 1948, in Dallas, TX, the only child of James Pickens Davie and Inez Corley Davie. Her family has a rich history as they were early settlers of Collin and Dallas counties.

At the age of 3, Diane was diagnosed with Polio and quarantined at Parkland Hospital. This never defined her. She overcame this disease with grace, and many people never knew.

Diane grew up in Garland, TX and graduated from Garland High School in 1966. She excelled in school and was all GHS (the top honor at her high school). Diane loved growing up in Garland and living close to her grandparents. She often spent time at their real estate office, Jess Corley Real Estate, which was right across the street from Garland High School. Many of Diane's lifelong friends were the people she grew up with from elementary and high school.

Diane attended Sothern Methodist University and graduated early in 1969. She was a gifted pianist and got her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education with a minor in piano. She was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.

While at SMU she began working at Motors Insurance Corporation (MIC), which started her career in the insurance and auto finance industry.

In 1970 she met and married her husband, Stuart Shire. They were married within three months of meeting each other. In 1975 their daughter Suzy was born.

Their careers moved them to Houston in 1978. Diane worked for MIC and General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) for 32 years. Working for GM was big part of her life and she was proud of her accomplishments and the friends she made along the way.

After her retirement, Stuart and Diane moved back to North Texas to be closer to family.

One of Diane's favorite hobbies was genealogy. She loved researching and tracing her family's history. She spent hours and years so that her family would know about their ancestors and heritage. It became something she really enjoyed after retirement.

Diane was a loyal friend to all and will be remembered for her kindness and gentle personality.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Stuart Shire of Plano. She is also survived by her daughter, Suzy Shire Adams, son-in-law, Cord Adams, and her grandson, Beck Shire Adams, all of Dallas.
