Sep 10, 1958 — Oct 28, 2024
Garland
Denise Roberts (née Dorn) of Garland, Texas, was born September 10, 1958, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to Adam and Ellen Dorn. She passed away on October 28, 2024, after an extended illness. Denise was the youngest of four siblings and grew up in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Western Beaver High School in 1977. She attended the Community College of Beaver County, where she met her first husband, Jay Silla. They moved to Dallas, where they had two children, Mary and Brian. While they both went on to remarry, Denise and Jay remained friends.
In 1997, Denise married Robert "Davie" Roberts; the couple resided in Garland, where they would go on to buy a home. Her greatest joy was being a mother; she stated that being a mom was the happiest time of her life. Denise enjoyed the outdoors and hiking; she was particularly fond of hilly Western Pennsylvania, where she grew up. In her spare time Denise also enjoyed backyard gardening and would grow jalapenos and tomatoes. Denise was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She was a lifelong animal lover and was particularly fond of cats. She cared for many cats over the years, as they brought her much joy. Denise was a lifelong Jehovah's Witness and received her baptism as an adult. She was a member of the Oakridge congregation located on Jupiter Road in Garland.
Denise is survived by her husband of 27 years, Davie Roberts, her daughter Mary Silla of Dallas, Texas, Sister Diana Holoweiko (David) of Midland, Pennsylvania, and Brother Donald Dorn (Joan) of Utica, New York, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved. Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Ellen, her brother, David, and her son, Brian.
