Delores Davidson, cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024, at the age of 90.

Born Delores Jean Vaughn, she was the middle child in a family of five, raised in Chickasha, OK. Following graduation from Chickasha High School in 1952, she went on to attend secretarial school in Oklahoma City. Shortly after graduation, she began her career as a stenographer at the Department of Public Welfare back in Chickasha, where she would work until 1967. She married Calvin Davidson, also of Chickasha, in April 1960 after a whirlwind courtship. They took their vows "until death do us part" quite literally and celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in April 2023. They had two children, Gregory Allen in 1961 and Sheri Dawn in 1964. They all became Texas transplants when Calvin was transferred to Dallas in 1967. Delores eventually continued her career with the Richardson Independent School District, where she would happily work until retirement. She was a working mom at a time when it was not the norm, yet she somehow found the energy to do both exceptionally well. Cooking, baking, sewing…there seemed to be nothing that she couldn't do, and she always showed up for her family. Her homemade peanut brittle and peanut clusters each December became legendary holiday treats. Later in life, she became an active member of the Buckingham Road Church of Christ and loved being involved with their local outreach ministry by volunteering with their food pantry. The many friendships she made during her years at R.I.S.D. continued long after retirement.

Delores was an attentive wife, and a doting mother and grandmother. Her children are grateful to have benefitted from her unconditional love and support throughout their lives. She is survived by her son, G.A. Davidson of Sachse, TX; her daughter, Sheri Davidson (Rob) Pettit of Aliso Viejo, CA; two grandchildren, Bridget Pettit (Hal) Hundley of Centennial, CO and Derek Pettit of Honolulu, HI; one great-grandson, Beau Davidson Hundley of Centennial, CO; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sadie and John Vaughn of Chickasha, OK, her brother, Donald (Quata) Vaughn of Huntsville, AL, her sister, Marie Vice of Chickasha, OK, and her husband, Calvin Davidson, who passed away in August 2023. She will be missed by everyone she left behind.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of Integrity Residential Care in Richardson, TX for taking such kind and compassionate care of Delores in her final months. Per Delores' wishes, a memorial service will not be held.
