David Linwood Holcomb Sr. of Fate, Texas passed away on May 3, 2025 at the age 74.

David was born in Wichita, Kansas on September 26, 1950 to Wayne Holcomb Sr. and Jean Williams Holcomb.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Adams, Brothers' Richard Holcomb and spouse A.C. Gregg of Virginia, and John Holcomb of Viginia, and his Children Renee Morris, David L. Holcomb Jr. of Crandall, Texas, Jason Michael Holcomb and wife Debra Holcomb of Garland, Texas, Ann Watson and husband Tim Watson of Rowlett, Texas, Alexander Ashmore and Elizabeth Ashmore both of Dallas, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents Wayne Holcomb Sr. and Jean Holcomb, Second wife Diane Holcomb, and Brother Wayne Holcomb Jr.

David was known for his kind heart, infectious laugh and unwavering support for his family.

David proudly served in United Sates Army from 1971 to 1975 in the 435th Chemical Detachment Unit at Fort Lee, Virginia. He was a member of the Texas American Legion.

David retired from McCarthy Building Company after 25 years of employment as a Project Superintendent building bridges and highways and many other projects throughout his career.

He was an avid golfer and greatly enjoyed the sport. David had a love for and was a big fan of March Madness.

David was a loving husband, father and proud Grandfather of 14 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. He took great delight in spending time with them and sharing in their activities and accomplishments.

He was loved and respected, and will be dearly missed by many dear friends, other family members and good friend Alena Nelson.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date and time.
