Daniel Lopez Maldonado
December 18, 1970 - July 13, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Daniel Lopez Maldonado. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Daniel was born on December 18, 1970, in Brownsville, Texas, and spent his formative years in this vibrant community. He was known for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Throughout his life, he exuded a warm and welcoming spirit that drew people towards him.

Daniel's passions were as diverse as they were captivating. He had an innate talent for capturing moments through his love of photography. Whether it was the breathtaking beauty of nature or the joyous expressions of loved ones, Daniel had a unique ability to freeze those cherished moments in time.

In addition to his creative pursuits, Daniel found solace and adventure in the great outdoors. Hunting and fishing were not merely pastimes for him; they were avenues through which he connected with nature's wonders. The thrill of the chase, the tranquility of a serene fishing spot — these experiences brought him a deep sense of fulfillment and contentment.

Scouting held a special place in Daniel's heart, and he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to its principles. He began his scouting journey as a Cub Scout and continued on to become a dedicated Boy Scout, achieving the rank of Life Scout. Daniel's love for scouting extended beyond his personal achievements. He took great joy in sharing his knowledge and experiences with his nephew, Brady Maldonado, who found inspiration and guidance under Daniel's mentorship.

Daniel's influence on Brady within the scouting community was profound. Spending countless hours teaching and mentoring Brady, he instilled in him the core values of scouting, including leadership, camaraderie, and a deep respect for nature. Brady, following in his uncle's footsteps, embraced scouting with great enthusiasm and achieved the rank of Star Scout at the young age of 12. The bond they shared through scouting will forever be cherished by Brady and the entire family.

Daniel was incredibly proud of the young men his nephews, Alex and Will, had become. Their growth, achievements, and character meant the world to him. He celebrated their accomplishments and embraced the special bond they shared. Will's college graduation was a source of immense pride for Daniel, a testament to Will's hard work and dedication. Alex, too, held a special place in Daniel's heart, and Daniel took great pride in Alex's career as an IT Support Engineer, where he displayed remarkable skill and dedication.

Daniel is survived by his loving parents, Cristobal G. Maldonado and Sylvia Lopez Maldonado, his brother, Cristobal Maldonado, Jr., and his wife Nicole Alexander. He also leaves behind his nephews Brady, Will, and Alex, and his great niece Julianne, as well as his nieces Katie, Holly, Ireland, and Reagan. Daniel's extended family includes several uncles, aunts, and cousins, who will forever cherish the time they spent together.

The family will be receiving guests on Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Williams Funeral Directors located at 1600 S. Garland Rd., Garland, TX 75044. Visitation will also be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass to honor Daniel's life will take place on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Cemetery Chapel located at 3900 Rowlett Rd., Rowlett, TX 75088. Following the Funeral Mass, burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

The pall bearers for Daniel's final journey will be his nephews Alex Maldonado, Will Maldonado, Brady Maldonado, Pedro Maldonado, Charles Flores, Paul Lopez, Raul Martinez, Rudy Cortinas, Randy Cortinas, Felipe Lopez, Anthony Lopez, and Brad Wallace. These individuals will carry him with love and respect, honoring his memory.
