Daniel Thomas
Jackman
May 21, 1960 — Apr 4, 2023
Garland
Daniel Thomas Jackman, 62, of Garland, Texas, peacefully passed away at his home, into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on April 4, 2023. He was born May 21, 1960, in St. Clair Shores, Michigan to his parents, the late John Michael Jackman and Ruth Walton Jackman.
Dan met his loving wife Trina in Dallas, Texas during their early college days. They were married on January 9, 1982, and recently celebrated their 41 st wedding anniversary. Dan and Trina are loving parents to two adult children, Danielle Lampe and Sean Jackman. Danielle is married to Jared Lampe, and they are parents to Dan and Trina's two grandchildren, Daniel and Joshua Lampe. Dan was blessed with a large, close-knit family of 5 siblings: 4 brothers, Tim (Kass), Denis, John (Angela), Jim (Wen-Jen), and youngest sister, Nancy Kerutis (Rick). Dan and Trina raised their family in Garland, Texas. Family was always a priority and he enjoyed celebrating holidays and special occasions with loved ones.
During his early 20's, Dan received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1987 with an emphasis in accounting. Much of his career consisted of Hotel and Resort Management, and he took multiple assignments overseas. After much prayer, Dan decided to leave the hotel industry and work closer to home. He accepted a position at First Baptist Church as Business Administrator in 2020, and he was blessed daily by the caring staff, the Christian relationships he made, and the peaceful working environment.
Many hours were spent studying and preparing for ministry opportunities that he supported, such as Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) and the Building and Properties Committee for the new church design plans. He faithfully attended the Master's Men Sunday School class and lovingly served in various capacities. Dan's hotel career, travel for Sean's baseball games and tournaments, and visiting grandchildren and family at different military duty stations afforded him extensive travel opportunities. Island life, being close to water, tasting foreign cuisine, and experiencing different cultures excited him and reflected his laid-back and easygoing nature. His quick-witted sense of humor and endearing personality put people at ease, and he consistently greeted everyone with a kind word or gesture.
A memorial service to celebrate Dan's life is scheduled for Friday, April 14, 2023, at 10am and will be held at First Baptist Church, Garland, Texas. For those unable to attend, the memorial service will be live-streamed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Future Church Building Fund of First Baptist Church located at 801 W. Avenue D, Garland, Texas 75040. The phone number is (972) 276-7194 and the website is fbcgarland.org.
