Obituary

Daisy Johnson was born August 12, 1932, in Mangham, Louisiana. She was one of 7 children born to Ben & Beatrice Wynn. Growing up as the daughter of a sharecropper in rural Louisiana, Daisy learned the values of hard work, dependability, and self-sacrifice. This is where she learned the love language of food, too. That and much more is what made her special. She married Bud Johnson on June 12th, 1955; together they shared 60 years. They eventually settled in Garland, Texas. They joined Lavon Drive Baptist Church in 1980. This is where she found a place to invest her life and love. Daisy started spreading joy through her cooking at the church. This was a selfless act of service to the Lord and many others. Later in life, Daisy faced the heartbreak of losing a daughter; still she served. Daisy devoted nearly all of her waking hours to care for her husband after he became ill; still she served. Daisy was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother to many. She will be missed, and she will  live on in our fond memories forever.

Daisy is preceded in death by her husband, Bud Johnson, and their daughter, Vicki Johnson ---parents. Her siblings: Albert, David, Johnny, Lawrence & Lucy, and her brother in-law Bonnie Johnson. She is survived by her sisters in-law Sandra Johnson, Alderuth Wynn, many nieces and nephews, and her son Mike Johnson, his wife Ashlee, and her many grandchildren: Amy Hofmeyer, her husband Justin, Tiffany Jones, her husband Brian, Heather Donohoe, her husband Matt, Brittani Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, and Zachary Johnson; with her great grandchildren Ava, Olivia, Payton, Ryleigh, Eli, Paisley, Preston, Brenden, Madison & Adelyn.
