Clara Ann Walters

Our sweet mama, Meemaw, great-grandma, aunt, sister, and friend, Clara Ann Patak Walters went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 18, 2026. She was born in Ennis, Texas, on June 18, 1944 to Adolph and Louise Patak. She was the youngest of 10 children. We were always amazed at what a great mom she was, considering her own mom died when Clara was only 4 years old.

If you spent any amount of time at all with Clara, you figured out real quick that she had the gift of gab. She knew no strangers, and would have your whole life story in the 5 minutes you were standing in line with her at the grocery store. She just loved people, and loved sharing joy wherever she went. You also figured out how strong her faith and love for Jesus were. Her deepest desire was for all of her family and friends to know and love Jesus like she did. Besides her love for Jesus, she also loved to talk about her family, her beloved Rangers, and yes, even the Cowboys. Her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and extended family always gave her so much joy. She absolutely loved keeping up with what was going on in everyone's life, and if you were blessed enough to be one of her daily phone calls,  you knew when you heard, "Well, I don't know nothing.", then you would likely talk for another 30 minutes about that "nothing".

She spent most of her working years at TI/Raytheon in Packaging Engineering. Apparently she was the GOAT of that department. She absolutely loved her time there, and had so many lifelong friends from her time at Raytheon. She delighted in remembering everyone's birthday, and it gave her so much joy to make cakes for literally everyone's birthday. If you were blessed enough to receive a cake, you were truly special.

Clara was preceded in death by both of her parents, Adolph and Louise Patak, her husband Jerry Walters, her son Jason Paul, her brothers, Adolph, Alphonse, and Albert Patak, her sisters Vicky Watson, Ruphine Patak, Elizabeth Dixon, and Alice Tacker. She is survived by her sister Helen Gajdica and brother Leo Patak, her sons Allen Walters, John Walters, Todd Walters, her daughter Lori Edwards, her grandchildren Caithlin Walters, Madison  Walters, Jason Walters, Alison Walters, Nicholas Walters, Alyssa Walters, Isaiah Edwards, and Tristan Bosak,  her great-grandchildren Blake Ramsey, Clayden Thornton, Reagan Thornton, Brantley Elder, Harper Walters, future great-grandbaby Leia Walters,  another future great-grandbaby on the way, her beloved beau of 5 years Ron Ruffner,  and many other beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Mom/Meemaw, we will miss your smile, your strength, your phone calls, your Italian cream cake, but most of all we will just miss you, our matriarch, the literal glue that held our family together. Go rest high on that mountain, sweet Maminka!!  Give Jason Paul a hug for us.

Visitation services will be held on August 30th from 7-9 p.m., at Williams Funeral Home in Garland. Her service will be held on August 31st at 10:00 a.m., at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland, with interment immediately following at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett.

Proverbs 31:26-28 "She speaks wise words and teaches others to be kind. She watches over her family and never wastes her time. Her children speak well of her."
