Charlie Hayes Thompson, age 89 of Garland, Texas, was born November 10, 1933 in Abbott, Texas to Nathel and Jimmie Thompson; and passed away December 28, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. He worked for Johnson Controls Battery Plant, and Globe Union Battery Facility for 45 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he loved hosting family Fish Fries.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Rosie Thompson; daughters, Janet Freeman, Tyra Parillo and husband, Tony; grandson, Romney Morrow and wife, Jennifer; granddaughters, AJ Matheson, Tiffany Meseberg and husband, Jeremy, Coe Bellamy and husband, Bryan; grandsons, Josh Freeman and wife, Laura, Jake Freeman and wife, Jessica; granddaughters, Arabelle Parillo, Ellora Parillo; grandson, Everett Parillo; great-grandchildren, Abby, Luke, Bryson, Cohen, Jackson, Emerson, Eason, Fallon, Joshua, George, Gracie, and Isaac.
He is preceded in death by Jill Alicia, Margarett Rose, and Charlie Ray.

Funeral services will be held in Charlie's honor at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 10th at Big Springs Baptist Church in Garland; with interment to follow at Big Springs Cemetery. The family will accept visitors Monday evening from 6:00-8:00PM at the Funeral Home.
