Charles Stacy Harris, fondly known as Stacy to his family and friends, graced this world on June 9, 1956, in Oak Cliff, Texas, known then as the "hood". Born as the eldest of four children to Charles Leon Harris and Joan Debew Harris, Stacy's journey was marked by vibrant passions and deep connections that left an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Stacy's early years were shaped by a boyish irreverence and a belief in God and Jesus Christ. Despite not completing his education at Justin F. Kimball High School, he later obtained his GED, showcasing his unwavering self-discipline and commitment to lifelong learning. His life was a testament to his values and principles, though he harbored a disillusionment with government and authority, perhaps influenced by the struggles of his friends returning from the Vietnam War era and his own battle with Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease.

On January 16, 1978, Stacy's journey took a significant turn when he met Donna. Their encounter marked the beginning of a lifelong love story, filled with romance, friendship, and the endearing nickname "Buddy." Together, they navigated life's challenges, finding solace in each other's company despite societal prejudices.

A true connoisseur of breakfast food, Stacy and Donna's early bonding moments revolved around their shared love for cooking and dining out. Despite his contradictions and wild side, Stacy considered himself "God's work in progress." He enjoyed life's pleasures, from drinking and smoking to savoring beer when it suited him.

Stacy and Donna's love endured over 45 years before officially tying the knot. The lyrics of "Country Roads" held a special place in Stacy's heart, echoing the sentiment of finding a home in the company of a loved one. His travels across small towns and big cities, driving his beloved fast muscle cars, became a source of joy and learning.
