Obituary

On July 03, 2023, Charles Harvey Giddens passed away peacefully at William P. Clements Hospital, surrounded by his sons, Kelly and Greg, after a five-year battle with cancer.

Charlie is survived by his son Kelly and his wife Chris of Lilburn, Georgia; son Greg and his wife Allyson of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren Campbel, Avery, and Zachary; brother-in-law Terry Horton and his wife Quinn; niece Misti Kusano and her husband, Keoki, and their children Matthew, Abigail, and Jacob; niece Kristi Matthys and her husband, Adrian, and their children Mallory and Sophia, as well as many other cousins, family members, and close friends.

Charlie, age 80, was born on July 27, 1942, in Odessa, Texas, to Lewis Harvey Giddens and Leonora 'Gigi' Lisenby Giddens. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1960, where he was a star basketball player.  After high school, Charlie attended Texas Tech University, where he met his wife of 58 years, Linda.

After graduating from Texas Tech University, with Linda's support and help, he built Southwest Interpak, a large regional packaging company from scratch.  He held many patents on packing products and systems along with patents on the manufacturing of back braces and equine products.

Charlie's passion for spiritual leadership lead him to join the founding families that started Trinity Fellowship Church where he was an elder for over 30 years.

Charlie was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, "Popsie," uncle, and friend. He enjoyed

spending time with his family, attending his grandchildren's activities and Wednesday night dinners,

golfing with his SAGE buddies, breakfast meetings at The Mecca, attending Dallas Mavericks games, and

traveling the country by car with Linda by his side as his navigator.

Charlie is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Horton Giddens, and his parents, Harvey and Leonora 'Gigi' Giddens.

Charlie lived with a strong faith in GOD and tried each day to be a blessing for HIM.
