Carl Marion Adams (94) of West Tawakoni, Texas passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on September 3, 1930 in Rayville, Louisiana to parents Bill Adams and Onie Walker.
Carl served in the Marines during the Korean War from August 1951 until September 1953 where he was discharged with the rank of Sergeant in Oceanside, California.
He married Peggy Marie Combs on December 8, 1952. Together they had four children, Teresa Marie, Julia Kay, Carla Jo and Philip DeWayne. Carl worked as a mechanic and eventually became self-employed after only having a grade school education. He purchased a property off of Shiloh Road in Garland, Texas for his business, Carl Adams Automotive, where he worked until his retirement in 1997. After his retirement, he lived in Brownsboro and Mineola and in 2005 he settled in West Tawakoni with his dog Molly, where he lived for the last 19 years. He enjoyed the peaceful country living watching the wildlife.
Carl is survived by his 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild plus many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers, Victor, Wesley and Leslie and sisters, Eunice and Myrtis.
His burial will be at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
