Billy Ray Blackman, 92, Of Garland, Texas went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2023. He was born in Athens, Texas on December 27, 1930, to proud parents William and Lockie Blackman.

Billy Graduated High School in Miles, Texas and then joined the Marines, from which he was Honorably Discharged in 1952. He was married to his wife, Mary Blackman for 63 years, they were long time members for over 30 years of New Liberty Baptist Church. He had a long career with Sears in the Line Haul Department as well, lasting over 44 years. In his free time Billy enjoyed woodworking, playing the mandolin, mowing neighborhood yards, shelling pecans and baking sweets. Music always played a major role in Billy's life, in his earlier days, he and his dad played and sang country music on the radio in Coleman Tx every Saturday for an hour.

Billy was preceeded in death by his wife Mary Blackman, and sons Dennis and Travis Blackman. He is survived by daughter; Nancy Hill and son in law Danny, grandson; Travis and his wife Linda Hill

A memorial service will be held for Billy at Williams Memorial Chapel, Saturday, April 15, at 1:00 PM
