Obituary

Billie Terry, much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend left this world peacefully on May 22, 2024 at her home in Plano, Texas.

She was born on July 9, 1938 to Pansy (Ball) and Hayden Leedy in Amarillo, Texas. She was the second oldest of seven children. She grew up in Sanford, Texas and graduated from Phillips High School in 1956. She moved to Dallas in pursuit of a career in 1957. She married Eugene Terry on September 25, 1961, shortly before his deployment to West Germany.

Above all, Billie loved her family and would never miss a celebration, graduation, recital, or birthday. She was known to come bearing beautifully wrapped and thoughtful gifts. If any of her family or friends found themselves in an hour of need, she was sure to be near to help in whatever way she could.

Her favorite hobby was traveling with her husband by her side. She attained the distinction of having visited all 50 states, including several road trips to Alaska.

She was a part of a pivotal moment of American history, having had a front row view of the JFK convoy among the crowds in Downtown Dallas on November 23, 1963.

She is survived by her loving husband, Eugene Terry; her daughter Traci Terry Dunn and her husband Philipp; grandchildren: Hailey Dunn, Leah Dunn, and Braeden Dunn; her beloved grand dogs: Sprinkles, Teddy, Marigold and Maui; her brother Roger Leedy and his wife Charlotte; her sisters Lyndall Ferrell and her husband Barry, Sonya Adkins and her husband Ronnie, and Vickie Hawkins; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pansy and Hayden Leedy, her brother Hayden Leedy, and her sister Sharon Church.
