Billie Emmaline Hankey, 87, of Wylie, Texas, passed away on January 11, 2024, in Richardson.
Emmaline was born in Lone Oak, Texas to A.W. and Cordie Wade on June 14, 1936. She met Jack
Hankey in McKinney, Texas and later married him on February 23, 1952, at Princeton United Methodist
Church. She grew up in Princeton, Texas and attended Princeton High School. After graduation she
began working for Commercial Banking where she retired as a corporate asset manager. Emmaline's
favorite hobbies were crocheting, reading, volunteering, VBS, traveling to Russia with her church group
to work with orphanages and other missionary work. Emmaline's most important things in her life were
Her God and her family and friends. She was involved with First United Methodist Garland and Pleasant
Valley United Methodist where she helped organize and provide Christmas presents and meals to the
underprivileged. Emmaline's favorite quote she always used was "I am sore and wounded but not slain, I
will lay me down and bleed awhile, and then rise up to fight again!"
She is survived by her daughters: Jeannie Smith & husband, Joe of Nevada, Tx and Jackie Harvill of
Sherman, Tx; her son, Roger & wife, Vicki Hankey of Wylie, Tx; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Hankey of
Garland, Tx; grandchildren, Rebecca Essary & husband, Carl, Barbara Madore & husband, Jason, Corey
Mixon & husband, Scott, Michelle Underhill, Chad Hankey & wife, Carly, Clint Hankey & wife, Kelly, Paul
Harvill & wife, Ashley, Jarrod Smith & wife, Stephanie, Jon Harvill & wife, Megan, Taylor Hankey & wife,
Katelyn; great grandchildren, Quinton Hankey, Katie Hankey, Will Hankey, Kevin Underhill, Chase
Underhill, Brennan Madore, Bryce Madore, Lydia Smith, Brody Bowers, Everrett Harvill, Ruby Harvill,
Kelsie Essary, Mikala Horn, Connor McCurdy, Sadie Essary, Mason Sulzman, Emma Sulzman, River
Hankey; great - great grandchildren, Emmaline Horn, Ivy Horn, Aiden Moreno, Noah Essary; and niece &
nephew, Wynona Wade and Tarvin Wade.
She is preceded in Death by her parents; former spouse, Jack Hankey, son, Anthony Hankey; grandson-
in-law, Jaysen Underhill; grandson, Joseph Harvill; brother, Newton Wade; her sister, Priscilla; nephews,
Michael and Kevin Wade.
