Betty Joyce (Bryan) Priesing, age 84 of Dallas, went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2026. Born in Bells, TX on December 1, 1941, she grew up in Sherman and graduated from Sherman High School in 1960. From there, she moved to Dallas after getting a job at Texas Instruments. She later married Ted Priesing in 1961. They then relocated to Tulsa, OK, where their two children were born, eventually moving back to Garland, TX in 1967.

Betty worked full-time while caring for her children, Patti and Gary. She was a wonderful mother who would do anything for her family. She was supportive of Ted when he opened his automotive garage in 1970, which he ran successfully for 53 years. Even after they divorced, they remained good friends and always took care of each other in times of need. They shared holidays and birthdays together with their kids and grandchildren. She always said that Ted was the love of her life.

Betty eventually worked at Rockwall International (now Alcatel) and retired from there in 1992. While working at Alcatel, she went back to college and graduated with a BA from Amberton University in 1992. She continued to work at Doctor’s Hospital doing insurance verification until taking full retirement in 2007.

Betty filled her retirement days by volunteering at the Discovery and Butterfly Gardens at Fair Park and joining a gardening club. She loved working in her yard and maintained a beautiful array of flowers to attract butterflies and coincide with the seasons. She also began taking piano lessons, going square dancing and playing card games with friends. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren who were the light of her life. Betty enjoyed taking vacations with friends having traveled to England, San Franscisco, Washington State and New Orleans. She often gave to charities that supported children in need.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents August Harry Bryan and Louetta West Bryan; her sister, Wilma Whittington; two brothers, Lewis Bryan and Roy Bryan; and her son, Gary Priesing. She is survived by her daughter, Patti Priesing; two grandsons, Garrett and Brandon Valadez; Ted Priesing; her longtime friend, Willie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rest in peace Betty, Mama, Nana. We love you so much.
