Bettie Jean Brandenburg, 91, of Garland, Texas went home to be with the Lord early Monday Morning, May 8, 2023, in Garland, Texas. She was born on January 4, 1932, in Mineola, Texas to proud parents Homer and Stella Ussery. She graduated from Crozier Technical High School in Dallas, Texas and married the love of her life, Leo Brandenburg Jr. They spent 59 years together before he preceded her in death in 2009. She spent most of her working life with Sun Oil Company, where she retired In October of 1988. After retirement her favorite hobby was genealogy, where she did extensive research in both the Brandenburg and Ussery/Jerden family lines. Bettie dedicated her life to her faith and family. She was a member at Lake Pointe Baptist church under Steve Stroope and was active with her Meridian Sunday School Class.

Bettie is survived by her sons; Ricky Brandenburg and wife Karen, Arthur Brandenburg and wife, Patsy, daughters; Carrie Guthrie and husband Roy, and Tina Brandenburg. Six Grandchildren; Tara, Matthew and Nathan Brandenburg, Ashley Estes, Erica Gage, and Wende Guthrie and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents and her Husband, and sister, Dorothy Barnhart.
