Bertha Mae Armie was born in Hunt County, Texas on December 16, 1930, and passed away on July 7, 2024, in Garland, Texas.

Her childhood days were spent in Union Valley, Texas, and Royse City, Texas where she attended school and worked on the family farm. She settled in Garland in 1963 where she worked at Resistol Hat factory blocking cowboy hats and subsequently worked for Texas Instruments and retired after 25 years.  She loved her family, flowers, and gambling at the casinos. She was the family's heart as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Bertha is preceded in death by her parents Otis V. "Pete" Fikes and Bernice I. Fikes; brothers, Orlan and Farlan Fikes; and sister, Mozelle Doyle.  She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Donald Armie; children, J.K. Allen (Emmie), Mary Allen Goodson, and John Mark Pumphrey (Kathy); grandchildren, Sascha Burton (Kacey) Dylan Pumphrey (Carly), Lauren Allen and Nichole Pumphrey; great-grandchildren Ashlynn, Kypten, Rylee, Zoie, and Jaxxon Burton.
