Benimarce Cardano Casana ("Ben") beloved father and husband, passed away after a long battle with leukemia on Monday, May 1, 2023, surrounded by loving family and friends. He was 68 years old. Ben was born in Anda, Pangasinan, Philippines, on August 2, 1954. He was the youngest of 12 children and was blessed with a close-knit family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Francisco Casana (d. 1988); mother, Esmaelia Casana (d. 2011); brothers, Godofredo Casana, Pio Casana, Cisco Casana (d. 1972), Adam Casana (d. 2018), and Jacob Casana (d. 2019); sister Venancia Casana; and his first wife, Bernardina Leynes Casana (d. 2009).

Ben is survived by his wife of 11 years, Rosalinda Caido Casana; daughters, Jennifer Casana Magee (Travis); Christine Casana Duria (Jeffrey); son, Joseph Leynes Casana (Barry); 4 grandsons, Phoenix, Gage, Greyson, Jett; 4 granddaughters, Chloe, Skye, Kai, Adeline; brothers, Porferio Casana (Geronima), Franklin Casana, Sr. (Elena); sisters, Herminia Casana Guray, Es Casana Carolino (Primo), Maelia Casana Verayo; and extended family including numerous nieces and nephews.

From a young age, Ben was a mama's boy. With Nanay and Tatay, he helped make sure there was water in the house, that there was enough wood, and that the pigs and chickens were fed. Wherever Nanay went, he was always there by her side. His siblings would say that he was her favorite.

Ben immigrated to Dallas in May 1976 with his younger sister. From then, he worked at the Naval Air Station in Grand Prairie and then retired from the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth in May 2012. His leadership skills, dedication, and hard-working ethics during his 36 years of government service earned him many awards for excellence.

He was the most kind, funny, and genuine person anyone could know. Everyone loved being around him since he was very comical and made everyone laugh. Fishing was also a hobby, especially when his children were young, taking them to Lake Ray Hubbard. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, grilling, bowling, karaoke, carpentry, and just fixing anything. He always loved family gatherings and was known for his fruit trays and his love for watermelon.

Ben was the epitome of strength and love. He was also known for his charitable heart and caring ways. He could often be found lending a hand, mowing the lawns for his neighbors, fixing a fence, and even providing housing for many in his own home. He was always prepared, from having drinks in a cooler and snacks in the car everywhere he went and even reminding his kids even now about keeping the gas tank above a quarter tank, and often checking the clock to make sure we've eaten lunch. He was always making sure everyone was taken care of, even 'til the end. His legacy of helping others will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. To call him Husband, Dad, Brother, Lolo, Uncle and Friend…was a remarkable honor. He was dearly loved and will always hold a special place in all our hearts. May his soul find eternal rest in peace.

All friends and family are welcome to attend the Visitation at Williams Memorial Chapel in Garland, Texas to celebrate Ben's life and legacy of love on Sunday, May 7 ^th from 4-7 p.m., with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 8 ^th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas followed by the burial at Garland Memorial Park in Garland, Texas. Services will be officiated by Father Michael Guadagnoli.
