Barbara Elizabeth Blackshear

Barbara Elizabeth Blackshear (Yates), 80, of Garland Texas, quietly passed away on August 22, 2023 in her home.  She was surrounded by her family.

Barbara was born on June 11, 1943 to Russell and Elizabeth Yates. She married her soulmate Kenneth Wesley Blackshear Sr on June 4, 1961- Married for 62 wonderful years.  Our sweet mom was such a loving and devoted wife to our dad and traveled all over the United States as a military wife.  She has 4 children: Kenneth Wesley Blackshear II, Steven Brake Blackshear, Thomas Earl Blackshear and Karen Elizabeth Ruyle.

Barbara enjoyed traveling the country to see new places to meet old and new friends.  She always had a sense of humor about her to brighten your day.  Loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids immensly.  Took time to make sure everyone knew they were important.  She really enjoyed her travel club-RV community.

Survived by her loving husband Ken. Steven and Corrie of Mineola, Tom and Jenna of Royse City, Karen and Randy of Garland. Her grandkids, Ryan, Lane, Erika, Nick, Emily and Kaci.  Great grandkids, Brooks, Briggs and Winnie.  Nieces: Kristen Browning and Madisen Neeley of Georgia.    She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Russell Earl Yates and son Kenneth Wesley Blackshear II.

She will be missed dearly ...........
