Obituary

Auburn Lee Burrow, born June 27, 1931, passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2025, with his son Allan Burrow by his side.  His beloved wife, Edith Burrow, awaited him in Heaven after her passing February 10, 2007, almost 18 years to the day of his last breath. He was one of 6 children, born in Clarksville, TX to Leoda and Jesse Burrow who precede him in death. His childhood was spent in Anona, TX on their family farm as well as his grandfather's apple orchard. He was a Korean War Vet who served in the US Army from 1948 to 1952.  He was Honorably discharged with a Purple Heart from his wound obtained in Korea in 1951 as well as many other medals.


He married Edith in 1969, became a father figure to her 4 children; Ruth Hoedebeck, Alvin Jr and Richard Hale, and Glen Anderson and resided in Garland, TX.  In 1971 he and Edith welcomed a son together, Allan Keith Burrow. Auburn retired from DeSoto Paint in Garland.
After his wife's passing, Auburn continued to reside at his home in Garland and lived independently until the age of 90 then moved to Mesquite Tx to reside with son Allan and daughter-in-law Sherri.


Auburn was a member of Southside Assembly of God in Garland for many years.
Auburn is survived by children Allan Burrow (wife Sherri) of Mesquite, Ruth Hoedebeck of Lone Oak, Alvin Hale Jr (wife Debbie) of Garland, Richard Hale of Garland, and Glen Anderson (wife Kim) of Rowlett.


Grandchildren Kayla McWilliams (husband Jake), Miranda Burrow (partner Zach Ross), Lauren Heizer (husband Mycha), Karen Denise (husband Donnie), Corey Hale (wife Ashley,) John Yeager (wife Rebecca), Tawnya Yeager (wife Donna), Casey Yeager (wife Linda), Aaron Perez (wife Hannah), Rody Perez (wife Paloma), and Courtney Lutonsky.  He is also survived by many great­ grandchildren. He leaves one surviving sister, Mary Ann Duncan of Grapevine, TX.

Procession & Interment at Mt Zion Cemetery, 3319 FM 552, Fate, TX 75087, Rockwall County.
