Arnold Michael Maki, age 76 of Garland, Texas, was born on August 13 ^th , 1946 in Brunswick, GA. He passed away on December 5 ^th , 2022 in Garland. Arnold enlisted in the army in 1966, serving in many locations throughout Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States.  In 1969, he married Joesri Raekham of Bangkok, Thailand and his son, John M. Maki, was born a year later. Arnold received many military awards including the Army Air, the Meritorious Service and Humanitarian Service Medals for his service before retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1989. He later took a position at AT&T, where he served in various roles for 21 years, including over 15 years as Lead Investigator with Asset Protection/Corporate Security at the corporate headquarters, until the time of his death. In 2004, his son John, a police sergeant, passed away in the line of duty. John was posthumously awarded the Star of Texas by the Governor in 2016. In addition to his son, Arnold is preceded in death by Joesri, his beloved wife of 48 years, who passed away on December 9 ^th , 2017 in Richardson. He is survived by his brother, Steven Maki of Burleson and a host of friends and coworkers who will miss his humor and wit. Interment will be a private ceremony.
